ASL has the widest range of industrially proven atomising technologies in the world. These INCLUDE:-
WATER ATOMISATION The melt is broken up by water jets. Production rates can be very high, e.g. 60t/hour, some oxidation of metals; irregular particle shape, possible to make sizes from 20μm to 10mm. Low operating costs. need more information?.
GAS ATOMISATION The melt is broken up by gas (or air) jets. Production rates are moderate, e.g. 0.1-3t/hour, oxidation can be very low, e.g. 100ppm; particle shape spherical (for inert gas); sizes from 10μm-500μm. Moderate operating costs. need more information?.
CENTRIFUGAL ATOMISATION The melt is broken up through centrifugal acceleration. Production rates from 100kg per hour to 10’s of tonnes per hour. A very efficient process, ideally suited to spherical electronic grade solder powder production, but also applicable to higher temperature alloys where sphericity is a premium. Very low oxide content powders can be produced. Very low operating costs. need more information?.
ULTRASONIC ATOMISATION The melt is broken up by resonant methods. Throughputs from 25-70kg/hour. Specifically developed for electronic grade solder powders. Low operating costs.

OIL ATOMISATION Similar to water atomisation, but chosen for specific properties of the powders imparted by the oil.
