Atomising Systems Ltd has a comprehensive range of atomising equipment to provide a very flexible special powder service. A 200kg melt size gas atomiser with ASL’s Anti-satellite and Hot Gas technology allows the production of free flowing high quality gas atomised powders.

A special melting and platform arrangement with our 30kg, 40kW melting furnace allows us to provide metal to four different systems.

One unit is a water atomiser suited to processing iron, nickel or cobalt alloy powders with a water pressure of up to 200bars.  The second unit is designed for processing silver and other non-ferrous or precious alloy powders and is capable of water atomising at up to 250bars.  When fitted with a special head, it becomes a small wet-collect gas atomiser suited to processing silver, dental alloys and other non-ferrous metal powders. The forth system allows centrifugal atomisation to be undertaken.

In addition to the above equipment ASL also operates an ultrasonic atomiser producing electronic and industrial grade solder powders.

ASL produces powders of the highest purity. Using special care in cleaning our more compact, non-dedicated, equipment, we are producing special alloys for electronic applications with <10ppm contamination levels.

For PSiMedica we have constructed an atomiser in a clean room dedicated to the "Brachysil" product for cancer therapy. This demands contamination levels of a special silicon alloy with certain heavy elements below 0.5ppm. We have improved on these levels by a factor of 10.
